- BPI Sues Blagojevich, Demands Proper School Funding
- February 04, 2009
Of the many laws that ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is accused of circumventing, few could have more lasting ramifications on the state’s future than the one requiring him to appoint members to a panel that recommends proper school funding for our children.
Blagojevich’s repeated failure to fill vacancies on the Illinois Education Funding Advisory Board prompted school advocate BPI to sue the governor a week before he was banished from office.
Valerie Denney Communications managed the media strategy for BPI’s legal action. The news conference announcing the suit was attended by every television station in Chicago; the Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times and Associated Press; and several radio outlets.
